Membership Covenant
The responsibilities of membership are described in the membership covenant, which includes the following statements:
1. I will maintain a practice of repenting of my personal sin and trusting in Christ alone for salvation as I recall my own baptism (Heb 3:12-14; 1 John 1).
2. I will worship with the gathered church regularly on the Lord’s Day (Heb 10:25; Acts 20:7; 1 Cor 16:2; Rev 1:10).
3. I will raise my children in the fear and admonition of the Lord by taking personal responsibility for their education and discipleship in the gospel (Deut 6; Josh 24:15).
4. I will protect the unity of my church by acting in love toward other members, by refusing to gossip, and by submitting to the Elder Team (Romans 15:5, 19; 1 Peter 1:22; Ephesians 4:29; Hebrews 13:17).
5. I will share the responsibility of my church by praying for its growth, evangelizing unbelievers, inviting the un-churched to attend, and by warmly welcoming those who attend (1 Thessalonians 1:2; Matthew 28:18-20; Luke 14:23; Romans 15:7).
6. I will serve the ministry of my church by actively serving in it and by being equipped to serve through the instruction of my elders/pastors, and by developing a humble, servant’s heart (1 Peter 4:10; Ephesians 4:11-12; Philippians 2:3-4, 7).
7. I will support the ministry and mission of the church by tithing (Genesis 4; 14; 26; 28; 1 Corinthians 16:2; Leviticus 27:30; Heb 7).
8. I will not work against the Statement of Faith, or the Creeds subscribed to by the church.
