Family Worship Guide: Week of March 6th, 2022
Memory Verse: Matthew 6:9-13
9 Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. 10 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread, 12 and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Catechism Question 18: What did God give Adam and Eve besides bodies? Answer: He gave them souls so they could never die.
Catechism Question 19: Have you a soul as well as a body? Answer: Yes, I have a soul that can never die.
Monday
Scripture: Read Matthew 6:9-13 together as a family.
Point of Focus: Today, discuss how God’s name is “hallowed”— it is holy which means “set apart” or “other”. One of the ways that God is different than us is that he is without sin. He is perfect and pure. When we approach him in prayer, we should do so with reverence understanding that we are speaking to our Holy God.

Tuesday
Scripture: Read Matthew 6:9-13 together as a family.
Point of Focus: Jesus taught us to pray that his kingdom would come on earth just like in heaven. This is a prayer that is coming true day by day. God’s kingdom is spreading all over the world and will continue to spread until all nations know him and are brought to obedience.

Wednesday
Scripture: Read Matthew 6:9-13 together as a family.
Point of Focus: Everything that we have is given to us by God. Our every need is provided for by God. In America, it is easy to lose sight of this because we enjoy so many gifts. But it is important to remember that we are completely dependent on God for everything in our lives whether we realize it or not.

Thursday
Scripture: Read Matthew 6:9-13 together as a family.
Point of Focus: We are to forgive others. And Jesus teaches us that the reason we do this is because we are so grateful for how much God has forgiven us. Now, this may sound like a tongue twister but remember: forgiven people, forgive people.

Friday
Scripture: Read Matthew 6:9-13 together as a family.
Point of Focus: God does not tempt us to sin. In fact, he always provides a way of escape if we are tempted (1 Corinthians 10:13).

Saturday
Scripture: Read Matthew 6:9-13 together as a family.
Point of Focus: God delivered us from evil when he freed us from our sins in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. God will definitively deliver us from evil when Jesus returns and makes everything new.
