Monday

Scripture: Luke 1:1-4

Inasmuch as many have undertaken to compile a narrative of the things that have been accomplished among us, just as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word have delivered them to us, it seemed good to me also, having followed all things closely for some time past, to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, that you may have certainty concerning the things you have been taught.

Point of Focus: This week we are going to look at how the Holy Spirit-inspired Scriptures were written by eyewitnesses during the lives of other eyewitnesses and how that should further instill confidence in us that the Scriptures are true and trustworthy.

Point of Focus: Luke, a physician inspired by the Holy Spirit was concerned about writing an orderly account of all that Jesus Christ had done. He did this so that a man named Theophilus could have confidence in Christ and the testimony that Christ is the Messiah. We too should have confidence that the Scriptures are an orderly account written about the person and work of Jesus Christ by eyewitnesses during the lives of other eyewitnesses. The Scriptures are trustworthy and true.
