Catechism Question 10: Where is God? Answer: God is Everywhere

Catechism Question 11: Can you see God? Answer: No, I cannot see God, but He always sees me.

Monday

Scripture: 1 Timothy 1:12

12 I thank him who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he judged me faithful, appointing me to his service,

Point of Focus: We are not strong on our own. It is Jesus alone who gives us strength. So, no matter where we are or what we do, we should always be mindful of Christ’s work in us.

Tuesday

Scripture: 1 Timothy 1:13

1though formerly I was a blasphemer, persecutor, and insolent opponent. But I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief,

Point of Focus: When we look back on the sins of our past, we should be thankful for the mercy of God. Jesus took what we deserved- the wrath of God. We received as a gift what Jesus deserves- full acceptance and access to God. Spend time thanking God for mercy today.

Wednesday

Scripture: 1 Timothy 1:14

14 and the grace of our Lord overflowed for me with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.

Point of Focus: We should also be thankful for grace, faith, and love (parents explain these words). These things can only be found in Jesus, therefore we must be in Jesus to experience these things truly.

Thursday

Scripture: 1 Timothy 1:15

15 The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost.

Point of Focus: No matter what we’ve done, Jesus can save us from our sins. Jesus saved the worst sinner who ever lived (Paul), he can certainly save us.

Pray

Friday

Scripture: 1 Timothy 1:16

16 But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life.

Point of Focus: Paul’s testimony serves as a testament to how patient Jesus is toward us. Jesus loves saving sinners.

Pray

Saturday

Scripture: 1 Timothy 1:17

17 To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

Point of Focus: When we think about things like our sins, forgiveness, grace, mercy, faith, and love, it should lead us to give praise and worship to our God. Spend time reciting this verse of worship from the Apostle Paul today as a family.
